Kuwait welcomes Sweden's decision to recognize Palestine as an independent state, a senior Foreign Ministry source said on Thursday.
The decision comes in line with legitimate international laws and the Arab Peace Initiative, and will increase the opportunity for just and comprehensive peace in the region that supports the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, added the source.
Nations whom have not yet come to recognize Palestinian statehood were called on to do so right away, said the source, who added that this would aid peace, security and stability in the region.
