Kuwait - KUNA
Kuwait's Cultural Attache in Amman Mohammad Al-Thefiri was elected on Tuesday as head of the Arab Cultural Attaches Council based in Jordan.
Electing Kuwait to the post highlights the country's civilized and cultural role, Al-Thefifi told KUNA after his election. He also stressed the role by the Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Amman for fostering Arab joint action in the fields of culture, knowledge and education.
The Council will work on convergence among the Arab cultural attaches for opening up fresh prospects to realize its aspired targets, Al-Thifiri noted.
In addition, the Council, which includes the cultural attaches in Arab embassies in the Kingdom, will work harder on boosting ties among the Arab states through various activities, programs and symposiums.
The Arab Cultural Attaches Council, founded in 1978, enjoys the support of the Jordanian government to play due role as an independent body that offers cultural and academic services to the Arab communities in the Kingdom.
