'Khalid bin Hamad Theatre Award' media message

The Organizing Committee to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, Theatre Award for National Clubs, Youth Center and People with Disabilities, held a meeting with the committee members to discuss matters related to the festival.
The second edition of the festival is organized by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs in collaboration with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, at Isa Town Cultural and Sports Club Hall, with the slogan #Painting_A_Smile. The festival is sponsored by: Tamkeen, Batelco, BANAGAS, Coca Cola, Al Hawaj, GPIC, Majestic Cars, Economic Development Board, Bapco, Palace Enterprises, Gulf University, Nissan, Yousif bin Ahmed Kanoo and Gadooa.

The Committee discussed the work flow of the past few days, reviewed reports on the plays, took notes and decided to avoid the negatives to ensure further success.

The Committee discussed the closing ceremony of the festival, scheduled to be held early next month after the last show, which will be on Sunday, November 27. After the success of the opening ceremony with participation from many Bahraini artists, the committee has taken upon itself the task of making a strong closing ceremony.


Important initiative by Khalid bin Hamad

Dr. Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Centres and Authorities, stressed that the Khalid bin Hamad Theatre Award for National Clubs, Youth Centers and People with Disabilities is an statement by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa on the importance of supporting youth theatre and standing with Bahraini talents.

Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa said the Ministry of Youth & Sports constantly seeks to create the ideal atmosphere for Bahraini youth to exercise activities that refine their character, especially in the field of theatre, as the last edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Theatre Award included many talented youths who showcased their experience.

He pointed out that the award's focus is theatre as it is considered to be high art, through which the youth can spread Bahraini culture and showcase it to the world in a civilized and sophisticated manner, tackling different issues facing Bahraini society.

Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa further explained that Award represents a fertile environment to discover youth talents and revive the theatre scene for National Clubs and Youth Centers.

Speaking on the current edition, Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa said: "We are in front of us another initiative, which is integrating people with disabilities in theatre work and believe that the Award will be an appropriate place for them to showcase their artistic talents to deliver their noble ideas to society."

 

Today's show is "Najma Sahil"

The shows of the festival will continue today, Tuesday, with the seventh show titled "Najma Sahil" by Al Buhair Youth Center.

The crew of the play is as follows: Ali Adel (director), Mohamed Bahlool (assistant director and scenographer), Mahmoud Al Alwai (writer), Abdulrahman Al Ruwaie (decor), Sarah Al Shaiji (make up), Ali Al Sharqawi (poetry) and production by Al Buhair Youth Center.

The actors of the play are as follows: Abubaker Habib Al Ghazi, Khalid Al Kabisi, Abbas Al Samak, Fooz Al Sharqawi, Ruwaa Khalid, Hawaa Al Murbati and Mohamed Bahlool.

Wednesday’s show will be presented by the Al Etihad Cultural and Sports Clubs with the show "Transit", Salman Cultural Club will present the show "I Will Not Wear Your Shoes" on Thursday, Al Shakhoora Youth Center will present the show "Seven Day Comedy" on Friday, Al Hala Club will present the play "Bala" on Saturday, and the final show will be presented by Hamad Town Youth Center "Eshal Zaman" on Sunday, November 27.

Bahrain TV covers the festival daily via a continuous message broadcast of this significant youth event, with young glamorous anchor Mariam Anwar Ahmad’s present daily to conduct interviews with guests and artists, in addition to the crew working in the daily shows.

Bahrain TV is also filming all the shows every day to be broadcast at a later date, so that everyone can view all the plays performed at the festival.
