Interior Ministry's Secretary General Samir Mubaideen discussed on Thursday with the Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Yousef Edais, and the accompanying delegation, the measures and facilities needed to receive Palestinian pilgrims heading to the Holy Land through Jordanian border crossings.
Mubaideen stressed that the Interior Ministry will provide all facilities for Palestinian pilgrims passing through Jordan, pointing to the Kingdom's supportive and consistent stance towards the Palestinians under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
For his part, the Palestinian Minister praised the historical stance of the Hashemite leadership towards the Palestinian people, noting Jordan's efforts to protect the Islamic and Christian holy sites and support for the people of Gaza.
He said about 3,600 pilgrims will arrive in Jordan this month, 400 of them by air while others will be ferried in 68 buses.
The delegation expressed its gratefulness to and appreciation for Jordan's leadership, people and government.
