Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Tuesday, attended a meeting for the special donors committee of the Palestinian Authority held in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Judeh told the meeting that the challenge is now not only addressing the aftermath of the recent Israeli war on Gaza but making sure that this cycle of violence of an war doesn't reoccur again.
He stressed the importance of resuming peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis to bring about an independent Palestinian state on pre-1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital. The minister highlighted the importance of a Gaza reconstruction conference, which will be organized by Egypt in cooperation with Norway in Cairo in October.
Judeh said Jordan is firmly committed to supporting Palestinian people and institutions, noting that the Kingdom is the largest host of Palestinian refugees at an estimated annual cost of one billion dollars.
