Jordaian FM Nasser Judeh

Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judah, yesterday discussed with Chief Palestinian Negotiator, Saeb Erekat, the latest developments in the region and efforts underway to resume peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis.
Judah re-emphasized that the Palestinian issue remains the crux of the conflict in the region and stressed the importance of re-launching serious and effective negotiations leading to a two-state solution.
The minister said any peace settlement must guarantee the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state on Palestinian national or pre-1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He stressed the unwavering position of His Majesty the King in addressing any unilateral Israeli action, especially against holy places in East Jerusalem.
The Minister briefed Erekat on contacts the Jordanian government has made with international partners to safeguard Muslim and Christian sanctities.
