A misdemeanor court released on Wednesday the chief of al-Mostakbal prison in Ismailia province and deputy security director along with nine other police officers and guards for a EGP 3,000 bail pending trial.
They are accused of being involved in the escape of two dangerous prisoners who were sentenced to death.
The officers allegedly received bribes to help the prisoners escape.
Prosecution charged the officers with corruption and neglecting orders.
