Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim decided Friday to suspend an officer, a cop and a private detective over the escape of 16 inmates from El-Mahalla prison.
Ibrahim also assigned the inspection and control sector to investigate the incident and hear accounts of the three policemen.
The result of the probe should be referred to Ibrahim.
A security source blamed the escape on negligence of the policemen.
