Assistant Interior Minister Ali el-Demerdash authorized heads of police stations to establish human rights units in each one of them.
The work in the new sections will be given to a policeman who received courses in this field.
The move comes upon the directions of Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim as part of the general policy of the ministry to protect human rights.
Head of Cairo security directorate inaugurated the human rights unit at Nozha police station.
The unit will be responsible for the complaints of civilians against any human rights abuses.
