HM King’s leadership, Arab stances lauded by Iraqi president.

Iraqi President, Fuad Masum, has stressed his country’s keenness on bolstering its cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields, as the best means to consolidate the long-standing brotherly relations between the two countries.

 

President Masum lauded the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and his constant keenness on championing Arab causes at various international gatherings.

 

The Iraqi president made the statements while receiving here today the First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, MP Ali Al-Aradi, and his accompanying delegation, curently on an official visit to brotherly Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi Council of Representatives.

 

President Masum asserted Iraq’s support for all efforts being exerted to bring about peace in the region, and to counter all challenges facing Arab countries, particularly terrorism, adding that his country is continuing its contacts with all parties in order to fight terrorism, dry up its sources and confront all parties supporting it.

 

The first deputy speaker conveyed greetings from the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, to Iraqi leadership and people, and his wishes of further progress to them, hailing Iraq’s historic stances in support of Bahrain in its defence of its issues.

 

Al-Aradi expressed appreciation to the Iraqi president, and thanks to officials of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to the Bahraini parliamentary delegation, hailing Iraqi officials’ keenness on enhancing cooperation and coordination with Bahrain.

 

He commended Iraq’s anti-terror efforts, reiterating Bahrain’s firm stances in support of Iraq’s security, stability and people’s unity.

 

The first deputy speaker lauded the Iraqi Council of Representatives’ invitation, stressing that the visit will enhance Bahraini-Iraqi parliamentary cooperation, and broaden areas of bilateral cooperation at the economic and investment levels, in light of the political developments and the economic changes that are taking place and affecting the entire region.

 

MPs Majid Al-Majid, the Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, Dr. Majeed Al-Asfoor, Hamad Al-Dossary, Khalid Al-Shaer and Mohammed Al-Jowdar attended.
