The high-level political meetings held between Egypt and Ethiopia in Malabo on the sidelines of the African Summit clearly reflected the joint files between the two countries, topped by negotiations related to the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, said Egypt's Ambassador to Ethiopia and its permanent delegate to the African Union Mohammad Idriss.
In press statements Sunday, the ambassador said that Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will pay a visit to Ethiopia but no date has been set for Sisi's visit.
He, meanwhile, pointed out to the meetings held between Sisi and Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings held in New York.
He also said that the the high-level ministerial committee meetings held between the two sides came to further develop ties between the two countries.
The political consultation between the two countries put ties on the right path and create atmosphere, which contributes to removing all obstacles, he added.
The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam has been a point of contention between Egypt and Ethiopia, as Egypt fears the dam will have damaging effects on its share of the Nile water.
Ethiopian officials insist the dam will not hamper Egypt's water share and have instead pointed to gains in electricity production offered by the project.
