The head of Mauritanian delegation participating in the inter-Malian dialogue within the international mediation team, Sidi Mohamed Ben Hennen said to be convinced that "these negotiations would culminate in concrete results for the resolution of the crisis in Mali owing to the key role of Algeria, which has been hailed and supported by the international community."
"I am convinced of the success of these negotiations especially as Algeria has the confidence of all the parties as the mediator country in the resolution of the crisis," Ben Hennen told APS on the sidelines of the second stage of the inter-Malian dialogue, launched Monday.
"Mauritania has suffered a lot from the deterioration of the security situation in Northern Mali since the beginning of the crisis, as it had been the target of many terrorist attacks, in addition to the rush of a great number of refugees, who fled violence in their country," said the Mauritanian diplomat, whose country is holding the rotating presidency of the African Union.
He also expressed his country's support to Algeria's efforts to resolve the crisis in Mali.
The second stage of the inter-Malian dialogue began Monday in Algiers with the aim to reach a comprehensive solution to the crisis in Northern Mali.
