Jerusalem - PNN
Haaretz newspaper announced this morning Tuesday 16/9/2014 the Israeli plan to evacuate 12,500 Palestinian Bedouins from their homes to the area of Jordan Valley as part of its scheme to minimize the number of Arab citizens in the city and its surroundings.
According to the newspaper, the Civil Administration (Israeli Military Rule Administration for the Occupied Lands of 1967) seeks to evict thousands of Bedouins, known as Arab Al-Jahalin, spread in the mountain areas around East Jerusalem, to the Jordan Valley.
Haaretz said that the Civil Administration’s plan is to be implemented on an individual basis, as decided by the Supreme Court of Justice, in the necessity of evacuating Bedouins “voluntarily” and not “mandatorily”.
The Supreme Court released recommendations to coordinate with the Bedouin citizens of Jerusalem to go to Al-Nuway'imah city that is currently being built in the Jordan Valley. However, the newspaper exposes that the Civil Administration’s decision will be implemented mandatorily and not in coordination.
