The Arab Gulf cooperation council welcomed on Wednesday a ceasefire between the Palestinians and Israel that was brokered by Egypt.
"It is an important step to halt the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip," the council's head Abdel Latif bin Rashid said in a statement.
The statement hailed the Egyptian efforts to reach the accord.
