Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s Secretary General Abdullatif bin Rashid al Zayani strongly condemned the killing of Egyptian hostages in Libya at the hands of Daesh militants
He termed the act as heinous terrorist crime which proves the brutality of its perpetrators and their breach of true Islamic religion and its noble values.
Zayani, meanwhile, urged the international community to intensify efforts in fighting Daesh terrorist organisation in Libya and other fanatic terrorist organisations before they mushroom and increase their crimes.
Extending warm condolences to the families of victims and government, Zayani expressed the GCC's supportive stance with Egyptian leadership and people in the aftermath of this hideous crime which shocked the emotions of the Arab and Muslim nations.
Twenty-one Egyptian Christians were kidnapped at the beginning of the year in the city of Sirte on the north coast of Libya. A jihadi website circulated photos in mid-January of kidnapped Egyptians.
