Fierce clashes erupted late Tuesday between Zintan militias and forces of the operation Dawn of Libya "Fajr Libya", said a well-placed source with Zintan rebels.
In TV statements, a Zintan leader said that the clashes come in light of a wider military operation to regain control over Tripoli which was seized on August by Dawn of Libya militants.
Dawn of Libya, a movement led by rebels from Misrata, took control over Tripoli International Airport after fierce clashes with the government-backed Zintan fighters.
