Egypt's Prosecutor General Nabil Sadek on Saturday issued a travel ban on former MP Tawfik Okasha pending investigations into charges of obtaining a fake PhD.

Okasha presented the alleged PhD as part of documents of his candidacy for the House of Representatives (the parliament).

Initial investigations show that the PhD document of Okasha was fake.

Earlier this month, Okasha was expelled by the parliament over a meeting with a foreign country ambassador.
