The UAE presented ten vehicles carrying pharmaceutical supplies to the health sector in the Aden governorate via the World Health Organisation, WHO, today.

The move came in response to the calls of the Yemeni Ministry of Health and the WHO, demonstrating the nation's keenness to support and assist the Yemeni people.

Juma Al Mazrouei, ERC Representative in Aden, said that such assistance is the duty of humanity, and affirmed that his team was supporting the programme in coordination with the Yemeni Ministry of Health and health offices in various Yemeni governorates.

Dr. Nasser Baoum, Yemeni Minister of Health, said that the UAE and the ERC have always supported Yemen and were among the first to do so, and added that the vehicles carrying medical supplies received by the WHO today would be distributed in several liberated governorates.

The Yemeni Minister thanked the UAE leadership, its government and the people, as well as the ERC, for their sustained support to the health sector in Yemen, adding that the aid would be delivered to the liberated governorates, as well as coup-held governorates.

Dr. Baum emphasised that the ministry had received US$10 million from the UAE through the WHO earlier, which was spent on equipment required in the various governorates of the country.

The director of the WHO office in Aden hailed the role of the UAE and the ERC in supporting the health sector in Aden, the liberated governorates, as well as the other governorates in Yemen.

The ERC will continue to implement vital and development projects in Aden and other Yemeni governorates in the areas of education, health, electricity, water, rescue and transport.
