Egypt's ambassador to Yemen Yousef Ahmed Ahmed el-Sharqawi said he will exert more efforts with Yemen's senior officials and the embassy team assigned to solve the problem of Egyptian fishermen who were detained in al-Hodayeda Port.
In statements to MENA Wednesday, the ambassador said the Yemeni side agreed to release the fishermen but refused to release three fishing boats the fishermen used, until the investigations are completed.
He added that the owners of the boats expressed readiness to pay the due fines and reach reconciliation.
