Egypt on Saturday announced that its armed forces started carrying out the 2014 Badr Maneuver, a major strategic one, with the participation of all military services, an army spokesman said. The 2014 Badr Maneuver started on October 11 and runs until November 6 and is considered the largest one in terms of planning and the army's participation as well as fighting activities, Spokesman Mohammad Samir was quoted by Middle East News Agency (MENA) as saying. "The maneuver, which comes in the framework of training and planning in 2014, provides all capacities and uses the most modern weapons and tactics," he added.
Egyptian Armed Forces are always keen to provide an integrated training system for its personnel, he added.
The aim of this maneuver is to stress the army's fighting efficiency to repel any internal and external attacks against the country, he noted.
He confirmed that the maneuver will enhance the army's mission in the fight against terrorism which poses a credible threat to the country.
