Egypt's Mufti Dr Shawqi Allam condemned Friday the blast that hit a checkpoint in the North Sinai district of Sheikh Zuwaid, leaving dozens of servicemen dead and injured.
"It is a heinous attack that aimed at disturbing Egypt's stability and security", Allam said in a statement, asserting that "the culprits don't belong to Islam"
He also called upon security men to firmly face terrorist groups in Egypt.
Allam expressed deep condolences to families of martyrs and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
