Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri met on Thursday his Sudanese counterpart Ali Kirti in Cairo.
The meeting took up boosting bilateral relations and the latest regional and international developments.
The meeting touched on Ethiopia's Renaissance Dam and the water security issue in order to achieve the common interest of the two countries, said foreign ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Atti.
The top diplomats also discussed preparations for the upcoming visit of Sudan's President Omar Hassan al-Bashir to Cairo.
