Renaissance Dam

Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan delegations taking part in Renaissance Dam talks in Khartoum agreed Tuesday to use an international advisory company or several companies to make studies on the Grand Renaissance Dam in Ethiopia.
During their fourth session of talks in Khartoum, the ministers of irrigation of the three Nile Basin countries agreed on formation of a new committee to put the framework regulations to carry out the recommendations given by a committee of international experts.
According to the communiqué of the session, they adopted a mechanism to implement the experts' recommendations.
The Ethiopian under-construction dam has been a source of concern for the Egyptian government since May 2013, when images of the dam's construction stirred public anxiety about the possible impact on Egypt's potable water supply.
