First Deputy Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Muhammad Shoaib has asserted that democracy and national consensus are the only way to rebuild Libya.
During a press conference with Britain's Libya Special Envoy Jonathan Powell, Shoaib expressed willingness to adopt any domestic or international proposals to defuse the current crisis in Libya.
"The international community recognizes the legitimacy of the Libyan parliament," he stressed.
Earlier in the day, Powell arrived in Tobruk city where he met with senior officials and the elected House of Representatives.
