The Public Prosecution had received a breach of trust complaint in which a well-known personality was implicated, Chief Prosecutor of the Capital Governorate Mohammed Salah stated, noting that the suspect was formerly interrogated and imprisoned in similar incidents.
Details of the case reveal that the suspect deluded a foreign company to pay him BD1,250,000 and be his partner in a poultry company, and promised to pay more than BD10 m, his share in the company's capital.
Pursuant to the agreement, the foreign company deposited the amount of its share, but the suspect did not honour his commitments and failed to pay his share.
The "poultry company" did not start its operations, and the suspect withdrew the amount deposited by the foreign company, being the person authorised to act on behalf of the company.
He spent the foreign company's money for personal purposes.
The Public Prosecution heard the statements of the foreign company's specialists and summoned the suspect and quizzed him. However, he denied spending the money for personal purposes, but for the new company, contrary to the evidence collected.
He was remanded in custody until the end of his jail term in another case and pending investigation in the current case.
He will stand trial at the criminal court.
