Five Egyptian soldiers were injured on Friday as an explosive device went off near their armored vehicle in Arish city, North Sinai governorate.
The accident occurred in the airport of the city, Egypt's MENA news agency reported, citing security sources.
The five soldiers were rushed to hospital while the security services were alerted and started a manhunt in the area.
It has been the first explosion in the governorate since the curfew was imposed last Saturday following a deadly bomb attack.
