Cairo Airport authorities foiled on Friday an attempt to smuggle 35,000 US dollars with an Egyptian passenger heading for Jordan.
The money was confiscated and the passenger was referred to the public fund prosecution.
Egypt's monetary law does not allow traveling with more than 10,000 dollars or equivalent.
