Matrouh security forces foiled on Thursday an attempt by 197 people to infiltrate into Libya via Egypt's western border.
The majority of the detained infiltrators was coming from Minya, Beheira, Beni Suef, Assiut and Sohaj.
They were trying to illegally inter Libya through a desert road near Saloum city.
