Shura council chairman Ali bin Saleh al-Saleh


Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh underlined today Bahrain's qualitative and advanced steps in fostering human rights, pointing out the initiative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in calling for the establishment of an Arab Human Rights Court with its permanent headquarters in Bahrain.
He was speaking as he received today Head of the Arab Human Rights Committee Dr. Hedi bin Ali Al-Yami and his accompanying delegation.
He hailed the committee's role and its remarkable participation in the induction workshop on the Arab Human Rights Charter which was hosted by Bahrain.
He also emphasised Bahrain's keenness to provide the legal framework and advanced legislations to boost human rights, underscoring the Shura Council's commitment to national partnership with all institutions to develop human rights work and consolidate Bahrain's efforts in promoting human rights.
On his part, Dr. Al-Yami lauded Bahrain's strides in safeguarding human rights and freedoms to honour its Arab and international commitments.
The meeting was attended by Second Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Bahiya Jawad Al Jichi, the Head and members of the Shura Council Human Rights Committee, Shura Council member Abdul Aziz Abul and the Secretary General.
