Manama - BNA
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has urged the citizens to take part effectively in the national decision-making process by assuming their responsibilities and contributing to serving the homeland.
The participation, by ideas, visions or sincere intentions, aims to thwart the efforts of those attempting to interfere in Bahrain's domestic affairs through sowing sedition, spreading hatred or fabricating fallacious information to distort the reality of the kingdom's prosperous political, economic and human rights situation. The Premier voiced the stances as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today scores of citizens, led by religious figures, intellectuals, media personnel and businessmen.
HRH the Prime Minister urged all to take the initiative and participate in whatever efforts aiming to enhance the national march and accelerate its pace so as to meet the citizens' aspirations.
He warned of the threats and continuous plans of those seeking to subvert the kingdom's security and stability, calling for the need to be more cautious and vigilant, rally behind the nation, and unify stances in order to achieve top national interests.
He stressed that while other countries are proud of their resources and rely on them, Bahrain relies on its people, "it's asset for the future and real wealth."
He dismissed the targeting of the kingdom's security and stability as no more than "desperate attempts" to distract its efforts to carry on its development march, stressing that the conspirators failed to recognise the fact that the solid leadership-people cohesion and the government's unwavering resolve not to reconcile anything when it comes to the citizens' interests will inevitably render their heinous plans a failure.
"Our focus has been on maintaining security and stability, but we continued following-up on the implementation of the nation-building and development plans without paying attention to attempts to impede our national march," he said.
HRH the Prime Minister called upon citizens to voice their opinions on the services they receive and any other things related their daily life.
He emphasised that all the citizens have be aware that they are "partners in the national decision-making process", and therefore, have to be involved effectively in all national issues.
He affirmed that the development plans and housing projects would continue.
"Let the citizens be sure that they are the core of the development process in the kingdom," he said, noting that despite the scarcity of resources, the government's resolve to provide decent housing for all the citizens and improve the quality of the services offered for them in order to meet their aspirations will continue unabated.
He pointed out that Bahrain boasts a unique and advanced parliamentary experience based on an exemplary cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches and mutual respect, expressing confidence in the Bahraini people's high awareness and ability to enrich the parliamentary experience further.
On regional and global issues, HRH Premier said that the successive and rapid developments required collective GCC and Arab efforts in order to face them more effectively, stressing that complementarity is no longer an option, but a necessity.
