Minister of State for Follow-up, Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa, said Bahrain's government, led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has adopted many initiatives aimed at improving the governmental performance.
This came during the Follow-up Minister's presentation at the International Forum on Open Government, launched today in Paris, in the presence of representatives from governments, civil society organizations and private sectors from around the world.
The minister reviewed Bahrain's government's practices and administrative applications, and noted Bahrain's leading experience in the field of good governance and economic and social development, which meets citizens' aspirations and supports government's plans that aim to improve the services provided for the government.
The forum tackled a number of topics, including transparency, accountability, sharing civil society organizations the initiative of good governance and economic development, as well as providing work opportunities and identifying challenges faced by the youth.
The forum produced a number of recommendations, most notably the need to activate partnerships between the government and citizens and to engage them in decision-making. The recommendations also pointed out the role of legislative institutions in the formation of open governments.
