Electoral rolls

The Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry has received the electoral rolls from the Preparatory Committee for the Municipal and Parliamentary Elections 2014, the Minister Dr. Juma’a bin Ahmed Al Ka’abi announced.
He said that the electoral rolls were already displayed in the allocated municipalities as from today, in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law (58) for this year.
Speaking as he paid an inspection visit to the Southern Governorate’s municipality to be informed closely about the display of electoral rolls, he said that the electoral registers would be displayed in the Northern Governorate’s Municipality in Budaiya, the Southern Governorate’s Municipality in Riffa and the Muharraq Municipality in Busaiteen for seven days to allow voters to check their names.
Dr. Ka’abi praised the key role played by the municipal councils, being among the main tributaries of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s National Project, and a platform that reflects popular participation in the decision-making in the field of municipal work.
He added that the municipal councils have, over the past terms, consolidated the kingdom’s sustainable economic and urban development, pledging the ministry’s resolve to do its utmost to ensure the success of the democratic process.
