Azhar scholars hailed on Sunday the support of Saudi Arabia and the UAE for Egypt and their support of Azhar.
The scholars made their comments during a meeting chaired by Azhar Imam Ahmed El-Tayeb.
Saudi Arabia has agreed to fund the restoration of Cairo's Al-Azhar mosque in recognition of its role as a "beacon of moderate Islam."
