Al Azhar will hold a forum in early December to discuss means to fight extremism and terrorism, a senior official said on Thursday.
"The forum will bring together prominent Muslim scholars and non-Muslim representatives," Abbas Shoman, Al Azhar's undersecretary said in statements.
They will announce their rejection of violence and terrorism and their disavowal of all terrorist groups including Daesh, he added.
