Army spokesman Mohamed Samir said that a top leader of the terrorist group Ansar Beit al-Maqdis was killed on Friday in a military operation in Rafah in North Sinai.
Shehta Farhan Khamis el Moatiqa was hunted down in a crackdown in Sadat area in the border city of Rafah, the spokesman said in a statement.
The slain terrorist was involved in attacks against army and police forces in North Sinai, read the statement.
