Tunisian Interior Minister Lotfi Ben Jeddou dismissed Wednesday the possibility of closing borders with Libya or Algeria during the Algerian parliamentary elections.
Instead, Ben Jeddou said, border security forces in Algeria and Tunis would be beefed up and put on high alert.
The minister acknowledged that there were some terrorist threats in Tunisia, but asserted that all security forces were on alert to confront it.
He said that troops were deployed nationwide to ensure security at poll stations.
