Foreign Affairs Minister Ramtane Lamamra underlined Wednesday in Algiers that the Algerian diplomacy has always displayed “professionalism and consistency” within the framework of the principles and values on which it is based.
In a speech on the occasion of the Algerian Diplomacy Day, celebrated on October 8 each year, Lamamra underlined “the consistency of the values and principles as well as the professionalism which have always marked the Algerian diplomacy during the Liberation War and the post-independence construction period.
The minister said that the celebration of this day, celebrated this year under the theme “Continuity between the generations of the Algerian diplomacy, » was an occasion to broach the achievements of the Algerian diplomacy since the Revolution of November 1954 till current stage, passing through Algeria’s accession to the United Nations.”
The minister also seized the opportunity to mention the distinguished personalities who made the glory of the Algerian diplomacy headed by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika as foreign minister and president of the country as well as others like diplomat and former foreign affairs minister lakhdar Brahimi, who was among the audience.
On this occasion, Lamamra paid homage to the memory of all the martyrs of Algeria and particularly of consul Boualem Saeis and diplomat Tahar Touati.
