Algiers - APS
Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra declared Monday here that Algeria is ready to meet any request by the Libyans of hosting dialogue meetings for solving the crisis in this country.
"If the Libyans consider that Algeria is the appropriate place to gather and engage a re-unification process as part of a national reconciliation then Algeria is favorable to this approach," Lamamra told a news conference he held jointly with Portuguese Foreign Minister Rui Chancerelle de Machete.
"Algeria will approve any solution proposed by the Libyans themselves," he said.
In this regard, Lamamra mentioned the recent experience of the inter-Malian dialogue as well as the different meetings hosted throughout history for the unification of the Palestinian ranks.
"Algeria’s position is clear. It advocates a national dialogue and a national reconciliation in Libya," the minister said, stressing that the challenge is to "give a chance to the elected institutions to have more legitimacy through unification."
For him, the "difficult" condition experienced by Libya now requires the recourse to "laws and measures" so to contribute to create favorable climate to the launch of dialogue among the Libyans.
