Algeria condemned the blast that hit a checkpoint in North Sinai earlier on Friday leaving dozens of servicemen dead and injured.
In statements, Algerian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdel Aziz Ben Ali Sharif offered condolences to the victims' families and asserted Algeria's support for the Egyptian government and people in the ongoing crisis.
Earlier, 26 servicemen were killed while dozens others were wounded in a terrorist attack that targeted a checkpoint in Sheikh Zuwaid district of North Sinai.
