Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, has warned the Israeli occupation against aggression against East Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque.
Any attacks on the mosque would inflame the situation and "burn the whole region", the brigades said in a statement on Thursday.
"We will defend al-Quds (East Jerusalem) and whoever attacks it will pay the price," the brigades added.
This came as the Israeli forces restricted entrance to the Holy mosque for Palestinians.
