A delegation from the Advisory Council returned Friday night to Doha after participating in the 131st Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, which was held in Geneva between October 12 and 16.
The session saw Saber Hossain Chowdury of Bangladesh elected IPU president to succeed Moroccan Abdelwahad Radi.
Some of the issues that were discussed include international law on national sovereignty and not interfering in internal affairs of states. The meetings also touched on human rights issues and reviewed reports of standing committees.
