Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas thanked Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi over efforts exerted by Cairo to reach a long-term ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian leader made the remarks in a phone call with Sisi, Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.
During the phone talks, Abbas said Cairo's efforts reflected strong ties linking the two sides.
