Minya police have launched a wide-scale campaign to arrest outlaws and curb the spread of weapons in the Upper Egyptian city.
Security troops arrested eight suspects on riot charges.
Three of them are accused of storming and setting fire to the public prosecution building in Deir Mawas. The other five face charges of attacking the headquarters of municipality in Mallawi.
Firearms,bullets and cold steels have also been seized in the campaign.
A huge amount of drugs and 87 plateless motorbikes were seized in the crackdown.
