Amman - Petra
Border Guards on the northern frontier received some 70 Syrian refugees who made it into the Kingdom in the past 24 hours through various crossing points, according to military sources.
The refugees, mostly women, children, elderly and injured people, were escorted by military guards who provided emergency aid to the injured before transferring the new displaced Syrians to the refugee camps of Zaatri and Azraq.
More than 600,000 Syrians had sought refuge in Jordan since the Syrian civil war broke out more than three and a half years ago.
