Five supporters of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group were arrested Tuesday in North Sinai over instigating violence.
The arrestees were charged with provoking riots against police, army troops, and military facilities, and organizing illegal protests.
They were referred to bodies concerned for more investigations.
In December, an Egyptian court labelled the Muslim Brotherhood group a terrorist organization, blaming it for a string of attacks in the country and banning all its activities nationwide.
