Five passengers were slightly injured when a locomotive collided with a passenger train in the province of Giza, said Head of Egyptian National Railways Samir Nawar.
The train was coming from Port Said and heading for Sohag.
The injured were moved to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The locomotive driver and his assistant were suspended and will be interrogated.
