The territorial groups of the coastguards of Jijel and Collo have foiled Monday off Annaba, an attempt at clandestine immigration by 17 people, National Defence Ministry (MDN) said Tuesday in a communiqué.
"As part of the fight against the clandestine immigration, two units of Naval Forces, part of the territorial Groups of Coastguards of Jijel and of Collo/5th Military Region, foiled Monday at 00:30 a.m. an attempt at clandestine immigration of 17 people," the same source added.
The boat of the clandestine immigrants was intercepted 11 marine miles north of Ras El-Hamra in the province of Annaba, the same source concluded.
