Sixteen suspects were arrested late Wednesday in a security crackdown on several North Sinai cities, according to security sources.
Also, six terrorist hideouts and an explosive charge were destroyed during the campaign, which targeted Arish, Sheikh Zuwaid and Rafah.
The troops destroyed two cars and eight motorbikes without plates.
