clashes in western Tripoli

At least 11 people were killed in clashes and bombardment in Warshafa, western Tripoli.
Local sources said Islamist fighters in the Fajr Libya (Libyan Dawn) coalition shelled Warshafa.
Following the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011, members of the Warshafa tribe and outlaws from other areas seized illegal arms with which they have been wrecking havoc in the country.
Warshafa is one of the most important agricultural regions of the country but due to the presence of gunmen, agricultural activities are almost non-existent with farmers fleeing in large numbers to neighboring countries.
