At least 10 Afghans, including 8 children and 1 police officer, were killed in a suicide blast in Khost province of Afghanistan. This was the second deadly suicide blast in Afghanistan on Saturday. A spokesman for the Khost Police Department said that the suicide bomber actually tried to attack a convoy of Afghan and NATO forces but was prevented from doing so by a police officer who jumped on the suicide bomber and helped rescue many lives despite losing his own life. Two people were badly wounded in the suicide blast in Khost. Earlier in the day, a suicide blast in front of the Afghan Defense Ministry killed at least 9 people in Kabul.
